Compassionate and Professional Therapy for all ages – Children, Adolescents, Adults & Couples!
Calm Space Psychology Services offers psychological therapy across the lifespan for children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Our practice is shaped by the cultural insights and clinical experience of our founder, Vinita Sagar, and guided by both the Social Ecological Model and the Social Disability Model.
These frameworks recognise that mental health and wellbeing are shaped by individual experiences, relationships, communities, and broader social systems. They also acknowledge that disability and distress are often influenced by environmental and systemic barriers rather than being located solely within the individual. This understanding guides our commitment to inclusive psychology, accessible mental health services, and neuroaffirming care.
Our integrated approach shapes the way we deliver therapy, design our spaces, and work alongside clients to support meaningful participation, autonomy, and psychological wellbeing.
The Calm Space experience reflects our values in practice. We provide a calm, sensory-considerate environment designed to support emotional regulation, engagement, and psychological safety. Our physical spaces, communication styles, and session structures aim to reduce barriers that can limit access to therapy.
Informed by the Social Disability Model, we actively consider sensory needs, cognitive load, communication preferences, and flexibility in service delivery. This approach supports neurodivergent-affirming practice and ensures therapy is accessible for individuals with diverse support needs.
Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming. Our role is to offer a professional and considered setting where individuals feel supported to engage at their own pace.
Stepping into Calm Space marks the beginning of a collaborative partnership.
We offer a range of evidence-based psychological treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Our work is trauma-informed and neuroaffirming, with a strong focus on understanding each individual within their broader context.
Guided by the Social Disability Model, we consider how systems, expectations, and environments may contribute to distress or restrict participation. Therapy focuses on building emotional insight, practical coping strategies, autonomy, and self-advocacy, while also addressing external barriers where possible.
We offer flexible therapy options, including in-person sessions, telehealth psychology, and outreach to homes or schools, to support continuity of care and accessibility.
Our skilled psychologists and mental health professionals provide individualised therapy informed by current research and professional best practice. We work across child psychology, adolescent mental health, adult therapy, and couples counselling, tailoring care to each person’s needs and goals.
Ongoing professional development ensures our team remains engaged with contemporary evidence-based treatment approaches, neuroaffirming practice, and ethical psychological care..
Individualised Therapy and Assessment
We offer personalised psychological assessment and therapy that considers your strengths, challenges, and lived experience. Our approach supports meaningful change while respecting identity, autonomy, and personal values.
Neuroaffirming and Trauma-Informed Care
We provide neuroaffirming therapy that honours neurodiversity and the unique ways individuals experience and navigate the world. Our trauma-informed approach emphasises regulation, collaboration, and choice, creating therapy that feels respectful, responsive, and supportive.
Accessible and Inclusive Practice
Accessibility is embedded in how we deliver care. This includes flexible session formats, sensory-considerate spaces, and clear communication to support engagement across diverse needs.
Evidence-Based Psychological Support
Our team provides practical tools and strategies grounded in evidence-based psychology to support emotional regulation, resilience, and wellbeing.
Vinita’s philosophy reflects a deep appreciation for cultural identity, diversity, and the ways the environment shapes mental health and wellbeing. Her approach recognises that each person’s capacity for growth and healing is closely connected to their lived experience, identity, and sense of safety.
During Vinita's EMDR training, she observed the importance of having a “Calm Space” to support emotional regulation and restore a sense of steadiness. She saw how creating a calm, supportive environment helped individuals engage more effectively in therapy and build resilience over time. This insight became the foundation for Calm Space Psychology Services.
Our practice integrates trauma-informed therapy, neuroaffirming care, and disability-affirming values, recognising that wellbeing is influenced by both internal experiences and external systems. Calm Space was established to offer a professional, inclusive environment where individuals feel supported to explore their experiences, strengthen regulation, and move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Calm Space Psychology Services offers inclusive, evidence-based psychology services for individuals and families seeking support across the lifespan. Our practice combines clinical expertise, neuroaffirming care, and accessible mental health services to support meaningful and sustainable change.
