The way we experience the world is shaped by our personal history, relationships, and cultural background.
Psychological distress can emerge from many sources - adjusting to new environments, managing the past, or struggling with sleep and emotional regulation. Support that acknowledges these complexities can make a meaningful difference in creating lasting change.
As a Counselling and Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA, I bring a depth of experience working with individuals across diverse cultural and life experiences. My approach is collaborative, person-centred, and empowering, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each client’s unique needs. With a deep commitment to inclusivity and advocacy, I support my clients in finding their voice and developing strategies that align with their values.
My passion for supporting refugees and asylum seekers is grounded in both research and direct experience working with individuals who have faced displacement, trauma, and cultural adjustment challenges. I have worked closely with refugee communities and women at risk of gender-based violence, gaining a deep understanding of the barriers they face and the resilience they carry. The experience has strengthened my commitment to providing mental health support that is accessible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. My approach is guided by a deep respect for each person’s journey, helping individuals rebuild a sense of safety, identity, and belonging in unfamiliar environments.
Throughout my clinical career, I have worked in private practice, schools, and community settings, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals build resilience, regulate emotions, and navigate complex life transitions. My particular passion lies in supporting individuals with post-migration challenges, grief and loss, and sleep difficulties, including co-developing an insomnia program for adults, 'Insomnia: A Self-Help Handbook', designed for Belmont Private Hospital.
Beyond clinical work, I am also a Psychology Board-Approved Supervisor, providing guidance and mentorship to early-career psychologists and mental health practitioners at Calm Space Psychology Services and multiple universities. My role in supervision allows me to foster the growth of the next generation of mental health professionals, ensuring that the support we offer is of the highest quality, informed by both research and compassionate practice.
Some of the areas I work with include:
Anxiety and depression
Autism and ADHD
Cross-cultural experiences
Grief and loss
Managing relationships and friendships (social skills)
Post-migration difficulties
Sleep difficulties
Trauma
Therapy is a space for healing, self-discovery, and reclaiming your voice - honouring your experiences, resilience, and the strength that has carried you this far.
A Little About Me:
I have a cheeky male pug who keeps me entertained with his antics!
Travelling and immersing myself in new cultures brings me joy.
I’m fascinated by the small wonders of nature - my curiosity about mushrooms, moss, and ants continues to grow.
I was born in Botswana and raised by parents from two different Asian backgrounds, which has given me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and shaped my worldview.
