Reaching out for support can feel daunting.
From the moment you arrive, I hope to make you feel welcomed, accepted, and free to be yourself, without fear of judgment.
I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable with the person sitting across from you. That is why I bring my authentic self into the therapy room.
I am a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth Provisional Psychologist. Where it is appropriate, I love using humour to help people feel at ease.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties and challenges with self-esteem or identity. I also have a particular passion for supporting families and helping parents better understand the emotional worlds of their children.
Before becoming a Provisional Psychologist, I spent many years leading student wellbeing and inclusion teams across Queensland, including in rural and remote communities. Those experiences taught me that no two people are the same, and there is never a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Everyone brings their own story, strengths and challenges, and I feel privileged to be invited into that journey.
My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed practice and person-centred therapy. While these approaches guide my work, I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship we build together. Research consistently shows that feeling safe, understood and connected is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes, and that is what I strive to create in every session.
Some of the areas I work with include:
Addiction and substance misuse
Adjustment and life transitions
Anxiety and obsessive compulsive behaviours
Depression and low mood
Emotional regulation and stress management
LGBTQIA+
Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD)
PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
I believe everyone has a unique story, and I feel privileged to support you as you make sense of your experiences and move towards the life you want to live.
A Little About Me:
I enjoy spending time with my family.
I love exploring new places and discovering somewhere different!
I enjoy hiking and getting outdoors with my dogs.
I have far too many indoor plants, and I am always finding room for another.
I am probably a little too invested in reality TV!
I believe it’s important to be a real person outside the therapy room.
