Life experiences, relationships, culture, and the environments you move through can shape the way you see yourself and respond to the world around you.
At times, stress, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or significant life transitions can begin affecting your wellbeing, relationships, and daily life. Therapy can help you better understand these experiences, recognise patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop new ways of coping that feel more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.
I am a Provisional Psychologist with a background in education and wellbeing, having worked with children, adolescents, families, and culturally diverse communities for over 20 years. My experience across schools, community settings, and psychology training has strengthened my interest in emotional wellbeing, resilience, neurodiversity, anxiety, identity, life transitions, and the impact relationships and past experiences can have on mental health.
I take a reflective and evidence-based approach to therapy, with a strong interest in how life experiences, relationships, culture, and the nervous system shape emotional wellbeing over time. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, and trauma-informed principles while supporting you to better understand emotional patterns, build insight, and develop practical strategies for navigating challenges. I recognise that meaningful change often develops gradually through reflection, repetition, new experiences, and self-understanding over time.
I hold a strong interest in neuroplasticity and the brain’s capacity for growth and adaptation over time. I believe many emotional and behavioural patterns begin as ways of coping, protecting, or surviving difficult experiences. Therapy can support the development of new pathways, deeper self-understanding, and reconnection with personal strengths and values over time.
I have lived in five different countries and speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian, I value culturally responsive practice and understand the complexity that can come with migration, identity, belonging, and starting over in unfamiliar environments. My personal and professional experiences have strengthened my appreciation for resilience, adaptation, and the importance of human connection during periods of uncertainty and change.
Some of the areas I work with include:
Anxiety and stress
Cultural identity and post-migration experiences
Depression and low mood
Emotional regulation and behavioural challenges
Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
Neurodivergence (e.g., ADHD, autism)
School-related and family challenges
Self-esteem and personal growth
I believe therapy can support you in better understanding yourself, reconnecting with your strengths, and creating meaningful change through reflection, compassion, and new experiences over time.
